How long to go to Guadalajara for, from Los Angeles
3h 5m in the air, 1,308 miles. That is a long weekend without much friction, though three nights beats two once you add the airport time at both ends.
With roughly 9 departures a day, you are not tied to one flight: if a meeting overruns or the weather turns, there is another one behind it.
Guadalajara is 4,891 ft higher than Los Angeles, at 5,016 ft. Enough that a first-day hike or a hard workout will feel harder than it does at home, and enough that alcohol goes further.
About Guadalajara

Guadalajara is the capital of the central state of Jalisco in Mexico, and the second-largest city in the country, with about a million and a half citizens in the core city and about 5.2 million in the metropolitan area. It is considered a colonial city, though much of its architecture dates from the independence period. Although it has a far more relaxed feel than Mexico City, the city center can still seem a bit stuffy and dusty, especially during rush hour when the sun is out. All in all, however, it is a lovely city and contains many nice areas for walking, not just in the center.
